Experience the rare beauty of authentic Silk Road dance traditions. Echoes of the Silk Road is a visually stunning celebration of Mongolian and Chinese ethnic minority dance, brought to life through one-of-a-kind costumes, original choreography, and immersive music and lighting.
Presented by Silkroad Art Preservation Collective, this milestone performance features over twenty original works by Artistic Director Ms. Baigali. Drawing from Mongolian, Tibetan, Uyghur, and other dance traditions, the program offers a rare opportunity to experience these cultures up close—brought vividly to life on a contemporary stage.
Artistic Direction
Born in Inner Mongolia, Ms. Baigali is an internationally trained choreographer whose work bridges tradition and contemporary performance. With advanced degrees in choreography and dance education from leading institutions in China, Mongolia, and the United States, her career spans stage, education, and cultural production. Her work is driven by a deep commitment to preserving and bringing Silk Road dance traditions to life.
From Studio to Stage
Our dancers come from all walks of life—students, professionals, and full-time mothers—ranging from emerging performers to dedicated amateur artists, all united by a shared passion for dance.
The stage
Located in the heart of downtown San José, the Hammer Theatre Center is a beautiful, state-of-the-art performance venue known for its intimate atmosphere and exceptional acoustics. Operated by San José State University in partnership with the City of San José, the Hammer is dedicated to showcasing diverse, culturally rich programming that reflects the vibrant spirit of Silicon Valley.
